18 vs 24 months old steers?

Back in the day they would "mouth" your steer at check in.  If he was missing to many baby teeth they would disqualify you.  Not sure any show is doing this anymore.  It definitely was not an exact science.

    how do i twine legs?

Baling twine or horse hair glued to the legs and tail head to fill in gaps of no hair.  It is also used to change natural angles and give the appearance of straighter and larger leg or more level hip. Steer jocks and clubby buyers

Here is a link to the original Showsteers site.  You can search by state under the "Directories" tab.  I am not sure how much work Thompson's are doing on this site since they closed the message board. http://showsteers.com/NAV/Links.htm

    Steer jocks and clubby buyers

Be mindful of your pricing.  If a guy doesn't think he can make a $1000 on one he probably won't even come look.  That may not even be enough margin today.  Once you haul one home, feed him and work on him for 3 weeks there isn't much left. Especially if you figure in risk.  Call the guys who...

Stall layout/ where to hang fans?

Take a look at about 1:20 of this video of Mikala Grady and her barn.  They have a real cool drop down wall of butt fans and that can be pulled up out of the way on a pulley system. https://vimeo.com/291190625

Risk of buying a calf online

I always try to get a picture with a person next to the calf.  That will give you some idea of scale and proportion. I have bought some midgets and some monsters from photos that looked great but when compared to their contemporaries they didn't measure up.  If you can, have a friend that lives...
