A friend of mine was at the sale and said he is really good, even better than any of the Angus bulls in that sale (Currency and a few other ones).  He said he was super sound, right sized, and soft made for a PB Simmental.  I'm thinking about using him on some high% Angus cows for some replacements.

People often associate Chi cattle with bad temperments.  I can say I have Chi's, Angus, Simmentals, and even a few Brangus cows, and without a doubt the Chi cattle are the gentlest and easiest to handle of them all.  Those Angus cows are the ones you have to watch out for!!  Yes I realize all...

I wasn't specific enough in my earlier post.  When I referred to size, I meant moreso weight than frame.  You're right, a 1300-1400 lb cow is just about perfect.  It's those 48 inch 1000 lb cows that don't make the cut in my operation.  Now back to the question at hand, Final Answer is siring...

The OCC cattle are extremely functional and have an awesome look, but they suck all the frame out of them.  I don't care what they say, it takes a big cow to make the really good ones.  I'd probably look at some of the SAV angus bulls, they grow and still have a good look and plenty of rib. 

I cannot believe there are no results on this sale yet!  Normally the board is covered up with talk of the Hartman sale. Surely someone went to it?

Any results on how the heifer calves sold?  High sellers and who bought them?
