ok i really want to be able to build my legs on my shorthorn steer but i havent figured out what colors to use to get it his deep dark red color. what order of colors does everyone use?? any help as hes a gorgous calf!!

I started showing horses at age 7  and i started cows at 11yo b/c u had to be 11yo and in the 7th grade and so i have been showing for 5 years with MANY diffrent calves, started with bottle calf and then went to steers and now do both steers and heifers. :o :)

Hes a florida calf and is only 2-3 months old. I'm not sure. I just hope he gets big enough 4 the show i want to take him to. If not then i will proble sell him to our local fair kids.

This is my new paddy o malley calf, hes still on his mommy as yall can see. I hope he gets big enough or ill be looking for a new calf. Verry nice and fancy calf, what do yall think from the photos. Hes only 2 months old and i couldnt get him to quit suckin on his mom.

ok so i just picked out a Paddy O Malley bull calf to show next year. I'll try to get better pictures of him today if i go out to the pasture. I was wondering if anybody on here has showed any of his calves and how they did what there finally weight was and how they graded out.

In every feeding u ad 1 tsp of non scented,no bleach tide in there feed, mine like to blost when they start to finsh and so i keep them on this all the time. also if on bloats do  12oz  mineral oil and 2 tsp soap and drinch them

ya right now we have shows every weekend also, i'm having to pick and choose b/c my parents are getting tired of it every weekend and i have dog shows also.

I have a steel chute and i love my 1/2 chute for shows the only thing is u cant put wild calves into it. The 1/2 chute is verry easy to be able clip and pull legs.

what time of day do u weight in?? In FL we have a weight in out max is 800lbs sept.8 and i know alot of calves that are 750-770lbs, take a much food back as possible and give HAY ONLY! u can still give him a handful of feed but thats it!! If u weight early on in the morning take back all water...
