I just sold corn fed-out steers for 1.00 per pound on the hoof...customer pays for all processing.  These steers were weighing in at 1450 and 1025 live wt.  I butchered one in December that hung 1000 pounds on the rail, I guessed his weight at 1375 at the time of sale....guess I was off.

We show both.....when I have to feed when my son is gone .....its not done right.  I can feed the cattle no problem. The hogs....1 pound of this 5 oz of that 2 ounces of some slimy stuff, 7 oz of moorfat, 1 scoop of stride n flex, two fig newtons and one twinkie.  I thought I had the twinkie...

I would love to hear the end of this story a year from now....thats a nice calf...wish her luck!  Hope I get to see him down the road!

I have seen a lot of Monopoly calves down here in Texas, they have been pretty consistant in being square large butted and very hairy. I liked them alot and one of his calves was my first pick.  When I went to Mimms to look at his sale calves for next weekend he had some really nice Milk Man...

My mom moved us from Jackson Lake in 1976 to West Texas because of the cold winters in Colo. She was a dairy farmer.  I like it here....its pretty warm most of the time and the people are great.  My sisters in-laws moved here two years ago from up there and they seem to like the mild weather...

My family (one brother and six sisters and I ) own an auto parts store. ( Left to us by our beautiful mom) I work there ten hours a day and I also am a certified Anger Resolution Therapist.  We dont have a bunch of angry people in our small town, so I cannot do it full time but I really enjoy...

Okay!  I will not complain any more.  How do yall keep water to your stock?  We are back to 68 to day and I will be darned if I didnt go home for lunch and our show pigs were swimming because of a broken pipe.....just another day. ---.

Well, Saturday and Sunday we spent outside clipping calves for county and Ft.Worth in 78 degree weather.  Monday the high was 35 with light drizzle.  Today we woke up to frozen everything and snow on the ground.  Does it do crazy stuff like this anywhere else? 

I would like to purchase an inexpensive bottle baby or just plain dog gentle calf for my niece. She is 9 years old and helps me out, and loves the cattle.  I dont want to buy the next years Houston winner...just something cheap and sound.  Let me know if you have something you want off your feed...

Seems to me it was an excuse for downsizing.  May not have to pay unemployment that way.  I could see it if you sat on your rear all day....but this really sounds like an excuse to me.

We have a really cute Hairy Bear steer that really hasnt ever "taken off" he has weighed 850 lbs for the last six months.  He had been wormed and fed really well.  He has always had lots of hair, which is great except we have been fighting dry skin all year.  In November he got this bad case of...
