    heat detection stickers

I've noticed the same thing with the green ones.  They're hard to tell if rubbed unless you get up close to them.

    Dream On deceased

Brad, I'm on the fence with cloning.  I agree that no genetic improvement is made if we keep cloning.  But, then I think, maybe this bull hasn't been mated to the right cow yet.  He died before he could produce a son better than himself.  The generation interval is too darn long with cattle!! ...

    old Maine bull Bad Medicine

I'd keep the mating.  Bad Medicine females are pretty good.  Deep and soggy on angus cows.  I like them.  Agles bought him at one of the first Ohio Beef Expos.  I saw him sell, a friend of mine was bidding on him too.  I think someone like Klingner had him there.

    Re-using CIDRS?

I re-use some.  Clean them in Nolvasan, let air dry.  Tie a knot in the end of the used ones to differentiate from the new ones.  I haven't seen a difference between new and used.  But I don't carry them over to the next year.  I'll buy new ones every year.

    calving ease bulls

I gave up on the "clubby" calving ease bulls about five years ago.  I breed heifers to Angus bulls, the resulting heifers make good cows.  I call it "de-clubbieng" the herd.  I haven't had one heifer out of a clubbie bull make much of a cow.  I've had two Hannibal heifers calve to BAR EXT, a...

    Drug Testing

Ohio tests a lot.  If you are feeding a medicated feed, you better look at the witdrawl (if any), and abide by that.  Show day is considered slaughter day here.
