    Opinion on defect carriers

I put the following comments under another topic (have you ever had a PHA/TH calf....) but I thought I would post them here too!  To me tolerance of other peoples opinions is easy and okay as long as everyone is honest.  I get very intolerant if folks aren't honest and forthright. You know on...

Have you ever had a TH/PHA calf at your farm?

You know on another message board Red this question would have gotten you a "BIG SHAME ON YOU" comment.  I am so glad that people on this board can comment about their experiences and opinions without the thought police saying snotty things about us.  I know that there are many different...

Have you ever had a TH/PHA calf at your farm?

We bought a bred heifer 6 or 7 years ago, (bred to Eskimo Joe) and she had a PHA calf (c-section).  Full term.  Did not have a clue what PHA was. Had a 2nd PHA calf born December 2005.  Six weeks early.  C-section on the recip.  Did not breed back.  Calf was out of VBCC Vaquero (Ice Pick x...

Things that judges actually have the guts to say......

Had a judge tell my daughter "that there is no way that her heifer could ever beat the heifer standing next to her" (probably he should have said "in my opinion").  Because, my daughters heifer had already beat that heifer TWICE. (clapping)

Pedigree-O-philes start your engines - the hunt continues

Hey, I want to get in on this deal - only I don't have any rainbow beefpaca stuff - can I substitute Alien Poo Pellets?  I don't think I'll be losing though cuz, I think Polleroid is clean.  I bet the pedigree is "wrong".

    Donor's Unlimited Sale

Well alien poo pellets, (I live about 20 miles from the UFO crash site)  hubby just reminded me that we have a b-day party we have to go to that day.  I know that he won't let me out of it either, the birthday party will be a lot cheaper for him to go to than the sale!  :'(

Pedigree-O-philes start your engines - the hunt continues

Okay DL - I cannot remember disagreeing with you over much of anything, BUT this time I'm going to have to!  When you say "having one or 2 Polleroids who are clean"..."doesn't really mean a thing statistically" you are forgetting who you are dealing with here, that is probably correct with most...

Pedigree-O-philes start your engines - the hunt continues

No tail hairs.  Nothing but a form, but it has been a year or two, maybe the Assn. has changed the rules about registering embryo calves?  The only difference used to be that you had to have the owner of the dam's  (at the time of the flush) signature.  I have had a couple of cows that I have...

Pedigree-O-philes start your engines - the hunt continues

Red -  Last time I registered an embryo calf I did not have to submit blood.  That may be just if they are more than a couple of years old?  Is the Roots bull's dam dead?  (X sure could be) and was a second test done on the Root's bull?  Cuz, I've had several animals tested that are offspring of...
