(the envelope please) and the award goes to

Well gosh thanks, although I do think that there are lotz of folks more deserving of this award than me.  ::) And I've got to tell you that I do want to nominate myself for the best costume designer for the purple tube tops for the Amigoettes and the PHA brigade! (DO NOT blame me for the thong I...

    Linebreeding

I maybe wrong in this (won't be the first time!) but, after reading these posts, I am sure wishing that some Maine breeders had done more line breeding and less flushing.  Looks like to me as if that would have eliminated many of the big time contributors  to the proliferation of the defect?

Hats off to Jirl Buck and other tidbits!

Joe Boy - I sure share your dilemma!  I am concerned that the Maine-Anjou breed that I like so well is about to lose the opportunity to be accepted by the commercial cowman as a breed that will put extra pounds and muscle on their calves and money into their pockets!  Instead the AMAA appears...

    Oklahoma Cow Calf Corner

Hey Red - Good, very timely topic!  I'm hear to tell you that some bulls ARE sterile (I had a full sib to Habenero that was sterile - Big Big Bummer) and then a 5 year old bull that had tested good every year that surprisingly didn't test out.  Don't know why.  But it definately does happen. ...

Hats off to Jirl Buck and other tidbits!

Just a couple of thoughts/opinions on Jirl Bucks catalog.  I'm pretty lukewarm on the "hat's off", "better late than never",  and I'm liking the "the lesser of two evils is still evil" quote pretty well.  Did anyone notice that although PHA and Mr. Bucks PHA management strategy is given billing...
