If the combined weight is over 26000 a CDL is required. The chances of being checked are slim except if you're running the interstate and have to cross a scale.

If you can buy all the steel to build one for $100, send me the name of the place you get your steel, I need to be buying from them because my guy is really ripping me off.

Here's on my son in law and I built but like everyone says, if you have to buy the steel you really don't save anything. I had over $400 in materials in this and about 6 or 7 man hours.

Keep in mind that if you're in Wisconsin, taking cattle to Minnesota to show is a huge hassle. The TB testing and quarantine requirements to bring them back into Wisconsin after the show will cost you. You have to get an import permit from Wisconsin,  the test cost plus a  60-90 day quarantine...
