I just wish that some Shorthorn cows got flushed to 6807. To me that would be the best thing that could happen to the breed. It would bring in a new line of genetics that may be useable to the breed through the appendix set up.

To me the question is how much more does a big cow eat than a smaller one? Can a smaller cow get by with less supplementation? It all boils down to is a smaller cow cheaper to maintain and get breed. To start with.....how many cow guys balance the number of cows per pasture right anyway? Years...

Good utube. At least it is a new way of measuring things. I think a more moderate cow is better. Pounds weaned per acre is better than pounds weaned per cow. Extra milk might be a bigger factor. It depends on environment. This is a topic well worth looking into.

I think we will have to pull cattle of grass here in 30 days because of the drought. So will have a chance to do that. I don't know why people would not test and double test all herd bulls. It is a hell of a lot better than and cheaper than testing 50 of their daughters. You are a good man doc.

I would be scared to death to buy a Shorthorn bull from most all of the Shorthorn breed. I can't trust that they are honest about birth weights. The only people I have trusted to buy a bull from is Lovings.

I was hoping that everybody just opened up.......and then by the time the National Western comes around covid 19 would would have all ready swept through everybody and caused herd immunity. I suppose though that the fall of 2020 a second wave will be coming through.
