Has anyone sent in a straw of hot commodity to test for myostatin. I know that most people don't care but it would be nice to know.

I have heard 2 theories. One.....covid 19 killed the club calf industry. Two....since people are social distancing families have a lot of time on their hands to work with calves.

Yesterday the bull was showing a little more excitement rounding a heifer that wouldn't stand. She probably wasn't quite into standing heat yet. I guess I'll probably give him a chance.......keep watching him. The pasture is 6 miles away and you almost need a 4 wheeler to get in there.

I turned out a 18 month old bull that I just bought. I haven't camped out down there watching him but I think something is wrong. He will sniff and mosey around cows but he acts uninterested and I have never seen him jump up on a female in heat. I wonder if it hurts him to mount? I remember 40...

I have a 50% Shorthorn-50% Red Angus bull that is cool I think. In theory we may take 5 sons, 5 daughters and 3 steers to the yards if they have a national stock show in Denver. They won't be big enough for most people though.

Here where I live.......cows that are 7 years old are considered to have worn out teeth. I have always heard that 18 month bull calves loose teeth at 18 months and thus they can go down hill for a period of time.

I meant 50% Angus-50% Shorthorn. The ABS bull.......I think he is Boulder........50% Angus and 50% Simmental. He is supposed to be a great one.
