    Red Angus Bulls

You may not find what you need from a heifer bull but their are blood lines that can tell you if you're headed in the right direction. I would suggest trying RCR's Walkerton bull to see if the Mulberry blood line gets you what you want. I would also suggest Bieber Makin Hay. One I'm looking at...

    cattle trailer modification suggestions

I have an exterior hay rack and love it on my Elite trailer. I have hauled hay, generators, panels and a grooming chute to a show up there. I have also hauled back bags of wood chips after one too. (OK, I have to admit that I hang with a very thrifty bunch). SD <alien>

    Red Angus question

Oh my how did we get to an EPD discussion (and on a show cattle site to boot)? Sassy I would listen to what Feeder Duck (AKA: The Great JC) said. SD <alien>

    Eby vs. elite

I will tell you up front that I am biased cause I love my Elite. Have over 50,000 miles on a just over 2 year old 7.5' x 28' Elite. I have not had a single problem. Not to say the other trailers mentioned aren't good trailers, just sticking up for the elite. SD <alien>

Issue: Daughter's show heifer acts like she wants to hurt my kids

Two words "thirst" and "starvation." (The two best motivators known in the universe! (maniacal laugh!)) Now before you go and call the PETA crowd let me explain. I have found that in varying degrees this works for halter breaking and attitude adjustment. I halter break over a feed pan. If the...

    Ways to attract new customers

Word of mouth: Do everything with customer service in mind and with integrity. Your current customers and those who know you are your best advertising. Find a Mentor: Hitch your wagon to someone who is already doing what you want to do. This will give you access to the "market" makers and help...

4 years ago tomorrow (Why is the SP Logo Red?)

Here is some pictures I ran across that Red sent me after she had heart valve surgery. They gave her a valve from a pig so I sent her a hog nose so she could add to her pig part collection! Many laughs, many memories and I have found no one like her since. (Gidget, I think of how you must miss...

What do you think of Fort Worth Steer Show?

DISCLAIMER: I have never showed, animals entered, watched or otherwise observed (i.e. mega-stealth mode via personal cloaking device), in a sober or less than sober state. the FWSS. Wow, seems the judge did not heed the way things have always been done rule. But just from an outside source it...

Your thoughts on the results of the National Red Angus show in Denver

I my opinion, I just don't see that EXT and Future Direction are that unique that I could get past his defect status. SD <alien>

Your thoughts on the results of the National Red Angus show in Denver

Not against registering heifers that are carriers, especially in a breed that is small in numbers with a limited gene pool. But a bull that is a carrier just breeds more carriers. So I don't think they should be registered. Make him a steer! I have bought clean cattle produced from dirty dams...

Your thoughts on the results of the National Red Angus show in Denver

A breeder is someone who can help me solve problems not create them. So this particular exhibitor, though up front about the status of the bull, is just that, an exhibitor not a breeder. It would be like  promoting a bull that would produce bad milkers. With that said, the rules are the rules...
