    He should eat between 2 to 3% of his body weight. So a 530# calf should be eating between 10 to 15#s per day. How nuch he gains will be related to now much energy is in the ration. Hope that helps DLZ

    We like using steam rolled oats to limit feed with. I know it is a little late for you but we have found it best to try to hold them back at around 200-225 #s if they are to heavy and then bring them back to full feed about 3 weeks before the end show so they will have enough fill and capacity...

    steer that tracks narrow

    He is just a little over a year old, weighs 1150 or so. How often can you trim their hoofs, once a month? if so, that would give us 4 times before we show in late August. Will that be enough time to make a difference? Thanks for the comments so far. DLZ

    My son's steer tracks narrow on his hind legs when he walks. He can get him set up wide enough for a good rear view but when you watch him walk from behind, he is to narrow. Anything we can do to make him track wider when he walks? Thanks    DLZ
