    Obstacle course

Most animals behave find on the obstacle course and I don't see a problem with doing one. Cattle load in and out of trailers every time they go to a show.  The obstacle course that I have seen was judged and timed.  The kids had to set up their animal in a marked area, load and unload from a...

how are the facilties at Grand Island

There is nothing to compain about.  Great facilities. Wash Racks are second to none. They just need to learn to clean the barn at night rather than during the mornings.  Expecially on show mornings.

Who's all going to Shorty Jr. Nats.?

Just arrived back.  Facilities at Grand Island are first rate!  Wash racks are second to none.  IMO they kept the show ring too cold and the cattle were a bit more squirley than if it had been slightly warmer in the show ring.

HORSEN AROUND TIME --PLEASE join in

Freddy,  the first foal with the tipped in ear.  Are both ears the same and will they stay tipped in? We had a few geldings when I was a kid that couldn't point their ears completely forward.  Great cow sense in those geldings.

    Shawn Varner

One of the BEST female judges we have ever shown under.  See's a good "cow" doesn't  judge on hair and color and won't use a female that looks like a steer in a breed show.

    Is Photoshopping Ethical

Well thought out essay and points out many of the concerns that I have had when looking at photos of cattle.  I appreciate that you have stood up and publically addressed the concerns that many in the livestock industry have had. Thank You

You know your breed is in trouble...

Maybe obesity would not be such a problem if you couldn't buy Soda Pop and Energy drinks with Food Stamps!!!!!. Not sure how Pop and Energy Drinks equate to a healthy diet in children.  But just wait,  there is an intense lobby to allow Food Stamp recipients to buy fast food with their...

    Tiny calf

We had a pb charolais heifer calf last fall that was early and only weighted 35 lbs.  We used a sheep esophagal feeder to tube her.  She is still small for her age but looks absolutely normal otherwise.  I was thinking about going for a mini ;D I thought at the time that it was environmental...
