    Sexed semen quality

I would be interested in reading it. Know a genetics company that keeps a running tab and reverse sorting slightly outperforms using presorted sexed semen in their IVF procedures. The problem with the overall number is not all bulls or semen collection facilities are equal. Their tab from...

    Sexed semen quality

I got along with 3ml on observed heats fairly well, but it was sorted by their competitor's system. I'd like to know if they are reverse sorting with their system yet and how the technology differs from what the rest of the industry is reverse sorting with.

    Hill Haven Fire Storm 28C

Now there's a topic for a new thread. Add recent epd movement to the topic and it could get interesting.

    Black gold, stout, couple others

Those cows were all very easy calving, moderate, good uddered, and eye appealing. Probably too small framed for their era and every now and then a Witch Doctor daughter would have a bit of an attitude. If you stacked Stout and Witch Doctor enough times to see regression the female would have no...

    Black gold, stout, couple others

How did he work? We line bred JDS Stout and Witch Doctor back and forth on each other for many years before before turning Shorthorns loose on them.

Anybody at Louisville see Little Cedars Argentine bull?

I'm under the impression semen will be available to the public.

    This Year's Show Bull

Do the judges at your national shows incorporate the epds in any meaningful way?

    dividend semen/embryo's available

I was surprised there wasn't more bulls, but I know some semen was sold in online sales the last few years. The old Irish semen generally doesn't play well with IVF either. Dividend won't reverse sort, or at least there hasn't been a collection code found yet that has. The Oocyte to embryo...

    Jungels Durham Nation Sale Report

It started with Outlaw at $10,000 and I thought it stayed pretty strong throughout most of the sale.

    NAME THE BULL!

Along with the horns, Dividend was a much lighter roan color with most of the red limited to his neck. This bull is colored more like Leader himself, but built differently and still missing the horns.

    NAME THE BULL!

Steermaker's "roan" was much more solid and his rear legs were white.

    Home raised herd bulls

They both look good, but I sure like that 918 bull for his intended purpose. I bet he leaves some nice usable daughters behind on top of the calving ease.

    NAME THE BULL!

I found the picture online with some info leading me to believe it is in fact Deerpark Leader 18th. I was hoping someone might be able to confirm, as I've never saw a picture of the bull.

Can someone at the Nat Jr Shorthorn show take a cell pic if the bull is there ?

Looks like I linked it to here from someone's Facebook page. Not sure why it's missing and can't remember what the picture was, but google shows a few pics of the bull on their Facebook page. Couldn't find a pasture pic though.

Current Problems Facing the Cattle Industry

The brain drain. CRP establishing unrealistic pasture, and even row crop, rents. The near monopoly that controls the vast majority of the industry's product. Subsidized crop insurance consuming land that would/should be producing forage. Regulations preventing producers from easily marketing...

    Shorthorn History Buffs

Some interesting numbers. I assume most of the bulls that made up the bottom end of their time are not still sitting around in tanks to currently show some of the poor growth of the era. Can't help but wonder how much of the above data is in the database and how it could contribute to sorting...

    Shorthorn History Buffs

Yes. I understand there were some, a lot?, of absolutely terrible bulls in past eras. However, I believe the system has punished bulls across the board based on their birthdate, or their sire's birthdate, rather than actual performance. A good portion of these old bulls have absolutely no...
