Stacking pedigrees to produce a Herd of Shorthorn specializing in show heifers?

I know it's not true "spirit" of the question, but it would be more cost effective to use those cows as recips and implant them with legit embryos from good cows sired by the bulls mentioned by mbigelow.  Outside of that, for show heifers you need a good mix of Shorthorn/Maine/Irish/Chi via...

    NAME THE BULL!

Tough to tell from that angle.  Got another pic?  He looks like a red necked roan with his tail done up in a ball.  Weren't many of those red neck roams that won in the era this pic seems to have been taken.  If it's a North American bull I'd guess young Irish Pride.  If the pic is taken...

    Top Angus Sires by Registrations

I can't tell what you're insinuating.  Is this list bad for the breed?  Why is that?  Is it semen distributors, politics, naivety, new money, trendiness, laziness, and/or etc?  I'm not an Angus guy, and genuinely curious.

Anyone at Louisville-really want stall pic FROM BEHIND-QUIET MAN

thanks to whoever posted the instructions to see the bull show.  I watched it and must say the quiet Man class was the most interesting.  Kills me he's TH.  Dude looks good.  With that said, I was most intrigued by JA SP Gale Force.  A CE bull like that showing so well is impressive.  Wish I...

Breeding up from the Bottom (side)

Based on some of the other videos it looks like a bull named YY Ballantine Leader 429B who was born in 2014.  Speaking of maternal, based on his pedigree he's by CCL 6th who's sire, Kinnabar Leader 6th, was born in 1965, and he's out of a Dover daughter who's out of a Lucky Clover Rambo...

    Shorthorn historians... help pic updated###

That's a pretty bad ass photo.  Notice the small ears, deep body, wide muzzle, and compact figure.  He doesn't look half or 1/4 maine at all.  In my opinion 1/4 main would look similar to what wee see nowadays (minus the irish influence).  This guy looks nothing like that.  And, his color...

Imagine an outsider showing up, winning banners, and not facing rumors, gossip, or unsubstantiated scrutiny.  Now I'm really curious to see the pictures.  Those years pre-date my subscription.

Wolf Willow Major Leroy 1M calves

JIT, He doesn't look very tall.  Can you attach a pic of you standing next to Glenford Curt or one of the other Ayatollah sons for some frame score perspective?  Lol!

    CFS/Lakeside Rooster

Stout bull.  Haven't seen a write up like that before.

    New Herdsire

I like the bull; awesome photo and two killer productive daughters!  But we are falling in love with pictures of mature shorthorn bulls similar to how we used to fall in love with shorthorn pedigrees.  Data, consistency, and great marketing will win.  We have got a long way to go. I've probably...

    Shorthorn weaning weights.

Curious if you or someone else can elaborate on what you mean by Patent being a "HUGE" bull - mature size, calving size, frame?  He's listed as a 6 frame score and has an 84 pound BW.  Seems reasonable.  But his WW of 900 pounds and his YW of 1,560 are truly huge....but apparently on a 6 frame. ...

Shorthorn Impact 2015 - My thoughts

Here's the article from 2005 that I referenced earlier.  I feel it shows vision and leadership.  I like that Doc Hunsley spelled out strengths and weaknesses and set some specific targets.  I miss his research and scientific articles.  I was hoping to see something similar after the recent...

Shorthorn Impact 2015 - My thoughts

Mbigelow, I wasn't there, but thats what I was interested in hearing about.  I could go back and find it, but Doc Hunsley wrote a "next ten years" piece in the 05 herd reference issue (I think).  I'm surprised it wasn't followed up on.  Maybe it will be followed up on in the 2016 herd reference...

Fall season in the Bitterroot Valley

Awesome video!  Your bulls look great.  Thanks for sharing.  Talk about uniform!  They look like they're all cut from the same clothe.  I'm guessing majority are sons of your leaders bull.
