    Young Money

Got to see him at expo and at the time i didn't think much just because i figured he was another th carrier cookie cutter but now that he's tested clean i really like him. He had some foot and bone and natural base width and looked pretty solid even through all the hair (which is an added bonus...

    osf stall assignments

it's not like there are too many great spots in the barn, the whole thing is hot. i wouldn't want to be in the sun next to the doors ideally but i don't think it matters too much.

    Monopoly or My Turn?

sounds like monopoly might work better. the hannibals normally throw a good head and neck into their calves and are normally a little cooler. monopoly might stouten and soften her a touch. my turn seems to really throw that cocky front and it sounds like you already have it.

best way to "get ears" on photos?

whatever can get their attention really. when we picture without halters, crawling towards them when they are walking in and then standing up and reaching to the sky works almost every time. kinda like a predator-prey natural instinct i think. odd noises or flashy stuff may work well too.

    opinions

i do like the hannibal idea, it has worked for us but i would breed him to the smaller framed deep bodied ones.

    Any SULL Achiever Calves?

i believe that's the one. they were flushmates if i remember correctly.

steers or heifers or both? kinda in the same situation here. i was trying to stay away from heatwave personally and was even thinking Predator but i don't know if the calves will have enough power. i really do like the eye candy's i've seen, both bulls and heifers and about every single one...

    Alias

Has anyone seen a real good one or know of what kind of cows he works on? i have seen several but they all seem to leave a little still to desire and haven't seen one yet that i have fallen in love with. i have a chance to get/use some semen and didn't really know what to breed him to. we have...

    Any SULL Achiever Calves?

there were a couple in greenhorn's sale that I liked. little cedar got one and it won its division at fort worth i believe. she was out of the sonny charm heifer that was reserve at louisville a few years ago. i am sure i have seen a few more but i don't remember pedigrees on the younger ones...

    ¿Add bone and hair?

from what i have heard, Predator.

    Style heifer

that's good to see a nice style calf. we bought half a cane to breed to some of our angus, hopefully he works maybe to pretty one or two of them up since they are a little stouter/uglier.

WHAT IS YOUR OPINION OF THE IDEAL BIRTHWEIGHT?

I don't care how big it is as long as the cow can have it by herself and it doesn't affect her reproductivity. If I had to have a number, I kinda like heifers no more than around 80 and don't mind if bull calves are a little heavier because hopefully they have a little more stoutness. Maybe I...

    "A rib too long"

from a weight management perspective, some of the longer body steers we have fed were a little harder to feed as they sometimes get a little heavier than they look. not that it's a bad thing but it might turn off some.

    Young Money-new Nat Exhibitor ad

back when he was displayed at the ohio beef expo and his th status was still pending, i looked at him and just cast him off as another th carrier bull with a big hip and big bone. I just figured those were a dime a dozen. however, now that i know he is clean both ways, he is awfully...

    Mercedes Benz Bull

That is good to hear about the predator calves. We bought some semen to use on some Maine influenced crossbred cows. Thought about using Benz but the predators were looking a little stouter.

    Boardwalk

saw around ten i think and they were a good set. they were fuzzy and seemed to have some grow as they had some cannon bone and still some circumference of bone. seemed to have some hip too. I will admit that they looked better than i thought they would. they seemed to come easy and don't look...

    Damn proud

i've seen him a couple times including as a calf. he's stout boned, chubby, and pretty cool. he's big hipped and stout but not monster hipped to where it scares you to breed cows to him. seems to have a pretty good disposition as when he's in the pasture, he might lick ya some. i thought he was...

    eye candy and calving question

heard of some big ones and some pulls but the cows half the equation. to be honest, after seeing a bunch of cool little babies out of him, i like that he is making stouter calves and on most of our cows i would not be worried about calving problems but then again there are a lot of angus...

    The Maine Man bull

goet sure does know how to make them look good. he's pretty good with a set of clippers. not that i am saying he is all hair, it's just well done.

    Is attitude heritable?

i think some of the attitude is genetic while some is environmental. we have had high headed cows have some flighty calves that started to relax the more they were around people and now they are puppy dogs.
