We started out using EQ Solutions as well when they came to county fair. Wow! I loved it. When we ran out, I had to buy some EZ-ALL. It just didn't add up to what EQ could do.
Anyone else showing their steers from the catch-a-calf contest in Denver this upcoming January? I'm excited. I got a big boy on my hands. Just needs a butt.
Hope I'm not gonna be a loner out there.

I feed him 10 pounds a day. He only eats about 7 of it. I'd feed him more but he'd never clean it up.
His stool is pretty loose. There is barely any grain in it, just a few oats. It's a dark green color.
Ok. We weighed my steer that isn't eating very good today. He weighed about 950. Last time we weighed him was July 28th. He weighed 925. So he is roughly gaining a pound a day, which isn't good at all.
That being said, State Fair is out. But the NILE show in Billings is in October. He needs to...
He isn't alone when he eats. I have a steer that I caught for Catch-A-Calf at Denver. They are penned together most of the time except for at night so I can feed my roan more hay without the other one pigging it down.
I haven't tried exercising him before feeding. I'll try doing that.
As for the probios, I have given him a dose yesterday but it didn't seem to make a difference.
I also bought a bag of Ranchway Show Flake Finisher and he likes it a lot better than the Show Chow.
I took out the beet pulp...
I purchased a nice blue roan April steer at the Arizonal Nationals held in December. He weighed about 650 in late-January at our county weigh-in. He is under coolers and fans all day.
The feed he is on right now is Show Chow Finishing Touch. He gets about 6 pounds of this twice a day with...
I have 3 calves at home right now. The one I'm taking to county fair I'm feeding Show Chow Fitter's Edge...about half of a 5-gallon bucket. Lately, he lost his appetite. He also gets 1 flake of hay in the evening. He weighs about 1150 if I'd have to guess. Anyone know how to get his appetite...
I will be feeding steers. They are weighing between 700-800 lbs right now. I tried Showmaster one year and hated it. Show Chow has been recommened to me by a couple people. But the price for Show Chow around here is about $11.50 a bag right now. For the fitter's edge anyways.
Anybody have a complete list of steer jackpots that will be in CO this year? I'm planning to hit them hard and the only one I know of so far is the Anthony Ingo Memorial one in April in Pueblo. If anybody knows of any, please let me know. Thanks =]]
I really like her. She has a little extra leather but that can be fixed with a little sweating. And she might be a tad pinched in the heart. I really, really like her though. ;D
Would anyone be willing enough to share their show ration with me? I'm thinking about feeding Show Chow, but I am seeing if there is anything less expensive first. If anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks. ;D
Does anybody know of any good hoof trimmers in CO? I have a roan steer that toes out quite a bit in the front and was just wondering if there was anyone who could help this out a little. Thanks.
I would count western Idaho as a surrounding state. ;D
I have my county fair steers already so I'm hoping for a State Fair steer but Colorado State Fair isn't until September :-\ Dunno if I can find a good one for $1500 though. A calf that would do decent at jackpots would be awesome too.
I haven't saw this little calf you are talking about but before I would sell him, make sure the other calves that the guy is bringing down are better than your roan calf.
It's all up to you though. It's your money and you will be the one showing the calf so you need to decide.
Just be sure you...
