We have a bull calf out of JWR out of a Draft Pick cow. He is less than 8 weeks old right now, but so far he is very impressive. I am also interested in info on White Boy. As far as JWR goes we will use him alot more.

We had a heifer with it out of Cherry Bomb. She was gorgeous as a calf till this developed. She didn't make it past 500 pounds before we sent her to the slaughter house.

We have a bull calf out of him. He is only 40 days old so we will see what he'll become. But right now he is one of the best looking calves I have ever seen at this age. We are breeding his mom back to him and would have used him more if it was earlier in the season.

Well they changed our forcast for today (imagine that!) now we are supposed to hit 95 or higher. That's a 32 degree increase in two days. The cows don't like it at all, my son's market steer left feed for the first time. Last week we had highs in the 50's, our corrals and alleyways were 6 inches...

We had a high of 63 yesterday and are supposed to hit 93 tomorrow. For us this is a big change for this time of year. Way too hot too fast, we haven't had the time or the need to pull out the fans yet. Will be getting them going early tomorrow morning.

I have a cow that is only 2 days overdue, no big deal. But other than the colostrum is there any concerns over 2 other calves nursing on her? We moved her as soon as we saw it. Could it cause hormonal changes and delay labor? I really don't think so but was just wondering. Thanks in advance

Thanks everyone! OH, yes we would like to stay black and white. As far as Th and PHA she hasn't been tested. Given her breeding I am assuming the worst as ++. Should have already had several tested, but will need to breed before it can happen this year. So we should stay clean on the buls for now.

Has anyone seen any Shock Wave calves? interested in him since he is TH free and PHA free out of Heat Wave.

Used to keep busy chasing 164 reg. angus all over the county, now taking it easy with just 12 high % maines, 3 maintainers and one poled hereford thrown in to make it interesting. The hereford by the way had our best calf so far this year, a bull out of Ali. (clapping)

Does anyone have any calves from him? We breed 3 cows to him last year, but won't be on the ground for 2 to 3 more weeks. Have some more in the tank and would like to use it on 2 more right away. Has anyone seen any calves from him?  Thanks

Thanks Red, this is small frame steer that is doing very well. He is a picky eater and is getting tired of his feed, been on it for  a long time now. We tried adding oil to his ration, he hated it. We have other steers going that love it. Just looking to try something new. How much should I...

Looking for any info I can get on cooking feed (corn barley etc..) How much can I feed per day? We are about 69 days till fair, steer is eating 22 pounds per day, how much of this could be fed as a cooked ration? Thanks in advance

My son has a cherry bomb heifer that we will be sending to the sale barn this Saturday. She was a beautiful calf, like Reds, but at about 9 months old stated going lame. Looks like spastic paresis(spelling?).  I still like him but will be very cautious on what we breed him to.
