10x10 air conditioned cooler unit

I'm in the process of building a 10x10 room that is insulated. I have an airconditoner for a 500 sq ft room. Will this be big enough to keep to 2 steers cool. Also, where should I place the air conditioner and do I need to vent it? Any suggestions would be helpful.

Get a cool Bot- if you do a search on this board you will find alot of info. It sounds like this will keep them cool.

You most deffinitly need some sort of ventilation system.  If you don't have any the amonia from the steers pee could potentialy kill them.

if you get a big ac and put a coolbot on it you keep them cool.... not cold though

Well our 25,000 BTU window air with a coolbot can get to 45 if I wanted, Im pretty sure that is cold enough.  Oh and its in a 12x14 room with 2 calves!

I would also invest in an electric lock that will open the door in case of power outage.

We have about a 18x14  room with a 25000 btu air conditioner and a cool bot.  We have the air conditioner set for 50 degrees and with the exception of two days we had 95 degree temps and major humidity we were able to keep it down to 50.  You need to make sure you have no cracks in the floor or door cracks.  We had to use a lot of great stuff in our cracks but is working great.  Also make sure you have ventilation.  Good luck with the project!!!
