This past fall I purchased my first pure-bred Simmentals - two heifers, a Dream on and a Legacy.  The Dream On heifer calved eleven days ago with a heifer calf out of Triple C Invasion.  The Legacy heifer is due for a Dream-On calf this week.

My plan is to breed them back for SimAngus calves next year, to build my club calf producing cow base.  The two heifers are pictured below, as well as the Invasion calf.

I'd like good advise on what angus bull or bulls to use on them.

Thanks!

A lot of people use Northern Improvement.  One of the best Angus bulls now is EXAR Lutton 1831 (Angus sire of the year) which is a NI son, but semen is upwards $150+ a staw, if you can find it.  I plan to use KDJ Aberdeen on some Maine & Limousin cows soon.  Aberdeen is a Lutton 1831 son and is a 2006 model.
Good luck with your breeding!

A couple of other Lutton sons that you can watch are Lazer & Liquid Asset. You might also want to look at the OCC/Duff line up.

EXAR Titlelist is a new bull from Express.  They claim he is phenotypically the best bull they ever raised.  He is a BR Midland son.

Cute calves and nice looking heifers.  ;D I have a heifer that looks almost like the one in the bottom picture.

I don't know too many angus bulls except for the ones that are bred for carcass traits that that's just because I have some friends that talk about those a lot.

Looked Titlelist up on Bovine Elite.  Boy he looks complete.

Thanks for the tip!

I have not seen any or used but OCC Next Step
If these are second calf cows, OCC Anchor would also be great for volume etc. I am not an Angus person but we do have some percentage Simmi's. I have one who is out of a 3C Macho x Who Made Who cow that I really love.

OCC Anchor should be a good option for these.  Another possibility is Grizz.  I've never particularly liked the bull, but he has stamped out some nice females over the years.  Congrats on your adventure into the simmental/simangus breed.  Hopefully it'll be a fun ride over the next few years.
