Just thought I'd post some pics of the 3 arrivals at our place in 2010.

The one thing I love about Shorthorns...calving is like a opening Christmas Presents...you never know what your gonna get!

Looks great Oakbar!  I have one lonely bull calf out of Gigolo Joe so far. (thumbsup)

Hey they look great!

I thought those Gus/Myrtle's were supposed to be heifers!

I like the Jakes Proud Jazz Heifer too!

Thanks for the comments, guys!!  The Gus calf was just 12 hours old when I took his picture and the Hard Core heifer is 10 days old.  Of course the the bull calf(95#) was out of a recip cow and the heifer(70#) was out of my daughter's Who Made Who show heifer.  We're really happy with both of them and no, Mark, the Gus calf was one of the unsexed embryos we put in last year--We still have some of the sexed embryos.    The JPJ heifer is out of "Fancy"(Vortec/Myrtle Bo)--Briar's show heifer from last year.  This could be a pretty good combination as "Fancy" is fairly large framed and if JPJ moderates her calf somewhat I guess that would be kind of what we hoped would happen.  This is an awkward picture of her(with her butt in the air) but she had just been showing a round hay bale who was boss, had a little "greenery" on her head and back, and thought she was pretty hot stuff.

Lynn,
The calves look great! I can't wait for you to get a darn female out of Gus, I don't need the competition for good bulls ;). Great job and I will talk to you soon.

Thanks, Stumpy!!  I guess we'll just have to keep trying for that Gus female.    By the way, I love your new ad in Shorthorn country.  Ol' Gus is acting a little more natural than we've seen him in the ring!! Ha,Ha!!
