Have to brag on my kid a little (no wild spring break
Well the son is home for spring break, he has been dying to get home and take his boat out and do some fishing (apparently school work has been getting in the way up at Cal Poly)
He went out with my cousin this morning at around 6:30, they called at 7:30 to tell me that they had 5 bass that went over 35 pounds, My son had caught a 9 and a 10 so far and my cousin had a 7,6, and a 4 pounder.

The biggest my son has ever caught before today was a 7, I'm as sure he is floating on air right now.

it has been in the low 70s and the water is in the low 60 right now.

Work it can get in the way sometimes ;)

Tell your son to take me fishing.  That warm weather out there must keep them feeding all year long.

My personal best is 4.5 out of a watershed in KS.

Jason you get out here, we'll get you out fishing. He was bummed-out Saturday because his choke on his boat was broke so instead of fishing Sunday (that is after he slept for 12 hours) he worked on the boat.
He is fishing with my cousin who is a big fish magnet, he caught his personal best last month a 14-2 (trout stalked lake, little one pound trout slide down like oyster shooter for the big bass).
Hopefully I will have some tomorrow

Here is a teaser, cousins 14-2 from lake Perris, ca

How do you fish for those things in CA?  Don't yall fish deep?

In Texas we catch them with lots of plastic worm fishing and top water certain times of year.

Chamero, Fish had the shad up against the bank, shadraps cast to the bank and worked out. We fish from 0 to 60 feet, depending on the lake. Favorite is either a crank bait or Texas rigged worm but will fish however it takes to get bit. I think more than anything it is line size 10 test or less unless flipping or throwing a swim bait.

YOUVE HIT MY BUCKET LIST:Well I can tell you this-If I can ever get out travelling again Id love to do some fishing in some of those Texas-Oklahoma ponds-or lakes: Ive caught em up to about 6 pounds up here-and even hooked an 18 pound plus Muskee that shook its head and broke the line:pond fishing. So Chambero, Redwine,or anybody down that way-I HAVE INVITED MYSELF-and promise to behave. Id love to lake fish in California too-I lived around the bay area for a couple years and caught a really nice rockfish amongst the trash and wine bottles in the saltwater lake in Oakland-as the drug dealers watched with typical menace. It wasnt a perch or a catfish-so dey didnt hav no intrest: LOL Anyhow-Ive heard about the Western river salmon ,and the huge lake bass-and I think with the skills this younger college guy has-Id be glad to pay him to take me out. <beer>Next on the dream trip-ALASKA-before its too late.
