As I embroider the remaining Christmas orders...I sit and await the ice that is due to hit NW Missouri.  Has anyon southwest of us got it yet?  www.weather.com said Allendale is to get almost 1/2 inch of ice.

Let's pray its not a replay of last year!

No ice here.... -25 degrees, dead still, bright sun..... simply gorgeous day!!  Cows standing in the field chewing their cuds, soaking in the sun. When you put your hands on them they feel warm as toast.... gotta love it!!!  No bugs..... no mud....... no ice.  Are you thinking of moving north yet????

Doesn't it hurt to breath when it is that cold?  I know if it happens to make it to negative here the inside of my nose will feel like it is freezing when I breathe.

I guess we're not conditioned for that kind of weather.  Those people up north are like High altitude cattle.  I'm from Illinois and I can't stand the winter.  The only thing I like about winter is the hair my show calves get! ;D

I think it's a matter of getting used to it.  When I first moved to Jackson, WY, and didn't have any cattle with me, I lived in town about 8 blocks from the rodeo/tack store I worked in.  It was just totally beautiful with sun, calm, mountains/snow (Tetons), etc.  You could see the Tetons from town and all around.  I was so exhilarated that I walked to work for about 3 days in a row without even realizing it was 35 degrees BELOW 0!!  Not wind chill - honest temps!  I finally noticed that the tops of my ears looked kind of "crinkly" and white rimmed.  Hah, they were frost bitten!  They still have the crinkles today!!  It was just so dry, quiet and beautiful that I didn't even feel cold!  Imagine!!!  When I finally moved back to Michigan I just didn't feel the cold for a couple of years.  I used to go shopping or out walking in long sleeved t-shirts and regular jeans in the dead of winter!!

The rain is here now, but it is up to 32 degrees for the moment, looks like we dodged a bullet on this one, hope you are that lucky.

It's here now.  I was just outside a few minutes ago & there is a pretty good glaze of ice on everything.

Same here. We put all the vehicles inside that we could...my trucks didn't make the cut unfortunately...at least the Stroker and the Yukon did, so we can still get around in 4wd power tomorrow.

I went out at 10 and my truck had a decent layer of ice all over it, and the sidewalk is already pretty slick. I hope the road crews can get the ice off, but I hope they're careful too...one of my good friends step dad is in charge of his township's roads...he's not pleased about this ice, let me tell ya!
