We have been showing steers for a while and I think I have a good understanding how to clip / fit a market animal but what would you do different on a breeding heifer? We are showing a breeding heifer for the first time next week.

Don't clip them quite as boxy as a market heifer.  Make them a little flatter from the rear or I guess more appropriately  clip them to have a long muscle patern instead of a short more expressive muscle pattern when viewed from the rear.  You 'll want to leave a little more middle in them and make them appear more feminine in general.
