Clipping tops

In show (breed) heifers, is it more desirable to clip the top level, or with a slight sway neck to tail?  Is it a high tail-head that "forces" the slope?  I've sure seen enough presented both ways, I'm just curious on opinions or if there is a preferred look.

How much tailehead you leave on them plays a big part in the overal "levelness" of top, also you can play around with how much fuzz you leave on the top of the neck and that  can change the length of neck and also create more "levelness" to the top. IMO, the amount of tailhead really depends on the animal itself, some just don't pull it off as well as others, being moderate and having it fit the calf  is, in my opinion, better than having something that looks "made".

  You'll want to stay as strait as you can. The high tail head in the bottom pic dictated the end result plus possibly the lack of hair in the mid back area. I bet that if you were there on site that they have taken that heifers tail head down as far as they possibly could. Both calves look fine, but always go as strait as you can. No one likes a weak top line.
