Can anyone that has a Cool Calf System let me know about how much more their electric bill is a month.  The system I would like to purchase is the one that holds 4 calves.  Any info is appreciated.

Don't have a cool calf but I have something pretty much as close as your gonna get and the electric bill is $300-$450 a month depending on how many fans you like to run in there!

Same unit plus two fans = $3.09 a day per calf for us last summer

Like AJH that is what our average bill will run, not a cool calf system, but same type cooling unit with 2 additional fans running.

If she has 4 calves in the cooler for 30 days a month that's $370.80 a month.

Not up much on this electric stuff. My AEP guy gave this info:
Single phase to the barn 120 / 240
Our barn is on its own meter.

We ran three calves for 90 days at that rate last year.
Cool room is12’x16’ with a 10’ ceiling. For wall insulation I used 3” foam plus I used rubber roofing on the side walls to make it waterproof. Even with the higher ceiling I think the 3”foam & Rubberized sidewalls made the room more efficient than your average fiberglass/wood sidewalls.
We don’t cool room the calves 24/7. We put them in right before sunrise, and turn them out at sunset. So the unit & fans ran about 14 hours a day on average.
Hope this helps
Nasc!
