This is a pic of the May natural calf out of Lily that we will be selling at the TN Beef Agribition in March.

Looks great Doc! You know I have loved that cow since seeing her at Duis' a couple years ago. Looks like that heifer is going to be a good one as well!

Redwine, seems to be a bit of a far-reaching statement/comment made from a single picture!
IMO, without knowing who the dam was, you could never call that heifer in the top quartile with any touch of confidence!

I believe that is what he was saying. He's seen the cow and really liked her. Then seeing the pic of this calf , he made a simple statement based on that. No big deal.

I wasn't saying she was going to be the next champion at Denver, just appreciating a fancy looking heifer prospect. I will agree though, that I probably am a little biased knowing who her dam is. Regardless, I think that little gal will make a good show heifer for someone and more than likely go on to be an above average cow. Best of luck with her Mike!

Thanks Heath. I haven't seen her since she was a baby, but Tim says she is really nice. Like you said , knowing her mother and throw in Mirage on the top side I think she will be alright in the ring and in the pasture.

First of all Redwine is familiar with both sides of the calfs pedigree-and thier are TONS of similar projeny, with which to form an opinion. Second-as good as that cow is-and Im one of MANY people who have seen her and some of her offspring over 8 years or so-you could breed her to a GOAT-and get a good cow prospect O0

I was very impressed with the Lily 102R cow when I saw her at Duis Farms. I saw her there a couple times and she looked the same each time, and she was very, very impressive!! I also was super impressed with her dam Lily 504L, and I purchased a flush out of her in the Duis sale the fall before their dispersal. I flushed her to DF Waco 6W ET and we got 10 embryos. So far, I have implanted 5 embryos and have had 4 calves- all heifers. They are going to make excellent females. Good luck with your heifer in the TN Beef Agribition sale. She is backed by some excellent females and I expect she will continue to develop into a good female.
