Duramax

Has anyone had or seen any calves out of Lautner's bull Duramax? He was promoted a few years back. I have some semen in the tank that I thought about using. He is a Slick 50 x Who Made Who.

I have only seen one calf out of this bull he was at a Labor Day sale last year in Iowa. Was being sold as a bull very sound functional calf. Always liked Duramax but never heard much about him or used him.

I saw about 15 last fall and about 40 the year before. For the most part all of them were sound, and not one of them didnt have a mile wide ass, and alot of them had shoulders to match. He used them on older maine x coss cows, that were huge, and werent much to look at. The calves are fairly heavy boned, and hair out the wazoo. They actually had one they were going to promote as an AI sire but he got killed by lighting. Warrant is a Double carrier. I actualy got stuck with a couple heifers from the fellow at an auction, and they both calved in march to my Dr. Who x Foreplay herd bull, and the calves are quite impressive, and the heifers them selves didnt have a bit of trouble having them(about 85 pound bull calves) and they are milking quite well for clubby bred cows. The heifers were out of Pale Face, Kadabra, and Alias cows.

talkin about duramax here. warrant seems like a great steer sire but the double carrier thing sucks

Sorry bout that I was looked at warrants picture right before i started typing that, and was thinkign of ordering some semen offa him, and I musta got all confuzzled. My experiences were with Duramax not Warrant. Duramax is just a PHA carrier  ))

if im not mistaken they have pretty similar pictures

Haven't seen many but liked the ones I did.  I saw the bull last fall and he was very impressive for a mature bull just off cows.  He is sound and definately stout.
