Family get togethers; how big a group?

We always meet at my parents house on Christmas eve for a family gathering and some fun and games. This year with all of the siblings, grandkids and greatgrandkids with there spouses and significant others, the total was 46 persons with two more on the way. Quite a group! My parents have a lage room on the lower level and although it can get noisy and hetic, it was a good time for all.

At my parents house we had 10.
At my inlaws we had 10 as well.
At my wife's grandparents, we had a slug. Her dad has 11 kids in his family. So we had 2 grandparents, 6 of the 11 parents made it, plus spouses (there's 12), And then there were around 25 grand kids, and 4 great grand kids. So we were looking at around 43 people.

We had 85 at my Great Grandma's family get together.  It's always so big that we haven't had it at someone's house in probably 12 years.  Then, on Christmas Eve, we had 16 there...then at my mom's house we had 5 (Mom, stepdad, sister, half-sister, and myself)....and today at dad's we had 7 (Dad, stepmom, three step brothers, sister, myself).. It's been busy, but it's been fun!

I married into a Checz (sp.?)family and we had 65 at Thanksgiving. 40 for Christmas Eve.

We had a get together last week.  64 were there.  We have it at a large church!

Oh my, I'd never make it through a party w/ that many people! We had 10 plus w/ 3 people just stopping in for a 1/2 hour. Also 3 dogs & 2 cats. woody I'm proud to say was pretty calm until someone started to rough house w/ him. He also didn't like it when another dog tried to get on my lap. There was some growling & snapping.
