We are going to flush this cow twice before sending her down the road. She is getting old and with cattle prices up it just makes sense. The first flush will be to Whizard with sexed semen to make replacements. The second we are not sure of yet. The second would be with conventional semen. Our ideas include Dr. Who, Monopoly, and Ali. This cow always throws a big hip and massive top. Her calves are always stout and sound but they can get a little growy. She milks like a Holstein also. She is an Intense Plus out of a Yardley Maine Cow. She is 89% maine. Thank you for your opinions

It's JMO, but you might consider a low percentage 1/2 Maine for a 3/4 blood calf. I like Jirl Buck's new 1/2 blood bull that he's promoting. I believe he's an I-80 son out of a Northern Improvement dam.

Daddys Money would also be a consideration if you want more Maine. He is very moderate framed and super massive.

Both these bulls have Ali and Dr. Who in their pedigree and are really good looking going back to super cow families. Mercedes Benz would also be another option if you want to add more Maine genetics.

Your cow looks super!

Thank you for your replies. I need to add that her calves even one that their sires are TH carriers do not have as much hair as you would think.

Go find a high% Maine bull with a mother with teats further apart.

I like your cow. Especially her hip.

Maybe something from nagel or green valley. Or ask bremer

One more thought on this cow is her calves take just a little longer to body down than others. She did get flushed to Monopoly a few years ago and half the flush turned out great and about half were ok. Something a little more consistent would be great.

I really like the look of Daddy's Money. Do you know the report on his calves? What I mean is are they working in the show ring  and how are they doing as fats?

Jones Show Cattle or Brent Tolle could tell you where you could see calves, which would be his first crop. He also looks good on paper and has a younger full brother which was Reserve to him at NAILE. Don't know about the hair but should be at least adequate.

Gucci is another option that was mentioned and always seems to throw great hair consistantly.
