I was just wondering what everyone has found to be the best insecticidal ear tags for cattle in the pasture. We have used several in the past but i know some get more immune to a few of the tags than others.

Your input would be greatly appreciated.

thanks alot-  eric

We used to switch every year. I asked an old country vet one time what he thought were the best ones and he replied " the biggest ones you can find so when the cow moves her ear the tag will chase away the flies"  After they have been in for a while I think he may be right. RW

I only use them on late born calves and bulls. I have found it is well worth the money and time to get the cows and calves in and spray them. My favorite is Ectiban ec. We have used alot of products but this one stays with them the best. The cattle don't group up and fight flies, they go out and graze and rest, and to me that = gain and breed. jmo

The best tags I have found are the Python Magnum tags and then alternate the next year with the Warrior tags.  We used the Magnum for years and the cows just aren't bothered by the flies.
