Any one have any opinions/experiences on/with it?  Is it more of an appetite stimulator (which causes them to eat more and thus gain weight) or does it add cover as well(fat additive)?  If so, can it replace fat additives such as Powerfuel or Power Phat?

X2.. power phat/boiled corn mixed together and added to feed works well for me... the main reason is because the steers love it and don't go off feed when you add it in...with a lot of the other fruity or sweet smelling additives I've tried it seems harder to get on full feed...I've heard good things about glucoat so I'm sure there will be some success stories out there but I guess it comes down to choice...do you think fat or sugar will add cover to your steer better...

It comes down to what your calf is eating and how it is working.  I have used Glucoat and can't really say one way or another if it helped because I don't really know what the calves would have looked like without using it. But I didn't have a problem making them eat it and it doesn't add a tremendous amount of bulk to the diet.

And, by the way, didn't your mom always warn you about eating that second piece of cake or cookie?

Glu-coat is less likely to have detrimental effect on the digestive system and hair growth, where added fat can cause loose stools, to much corn can effect hair growth.
We fed it this year and the calves liked it, like it was stated before, I do not know if it helped or not both animals were finished with a smooth layer of cover, so it definitely did not hurt them.

Fed to two calves...never added corn just finisher & Glu-coat...Happy with our results...both Breed Champions.....good handle to both calves and one was a calf I thought was a hard doer.

When I started feeding it, it seemed to boost their appiteite, along with add some bloom to their hair. I'd feed it again.

My calf eats a lot better since we put him on Glu-Coat, I am pretty surprised. We will just see how he turns out

have heard that glucoat adds marbeling to the meat it makes them look broader by expanding the meat that way. also hear it doesn't add a whole lot of cover because of this, haven't tried it just what i hear but i think i am going to.
