I've been offline for so long that I hardly remember how to post!!  (lol)  Here in the northeast part of Michigan, where I've opted to live this winter, we have had an early and formidable start to the "season"!  Got 6 inches of heavy, wet snow about a week and a half ago which proceeded to weigh down the trees and branches with tons of damage all around and power outages for days on end!  In the last 7 days, I've had outages for 3 of those days!  Of course, no power/no internet!  Finally, the power has come back online but my cable internet/phone/tv service has been out for the last 4 days.  I've been troubleshooting using my pda but I can't really communicated well with it (if it were an iPhone or an iPod Touch, this wouldn't be a problem!) and can't access and respond to/on Steer Planet.  Everything is finally back, for now, anyway but I apologize if anyone (Matt?)  has tried to contact me through the Planet.  I'll be responding privately soon.  It's nice to be back!

Nice to have you back, Dori!  Hope your bundled up and keeping warm.  When to the power goes out here, I worry to death about freezing and watering the cows (well water).  Hopefully they'll get everything restored quickly.  :)

Nothing worse than losing power during a cold spell!  Not only is difficult getting out, but you get bored inside without your gagets working.  Hope the rest of your winter is relatively calm!

We can only hope, TJ!  It is very early for this weather up here.  We don't usually see much serious snow 'til after Christmas.  Maybe, if we're lucky, it'll go away early, too!  Yeah, right!

always good to hear from you Dori!

We just have a dusting of snow here. Personally, that's enough for me!

I've already had enough snow and ice for a while--too bad, I guess, cause we're expecting 5-8 inches overnight with high winds and several cold, cold days to follow.  Sometimes I wish I'd been born in Arizona but I guess I've never heard of an "Arizonawegian" and I probably never will.  Guess I'm stuck with another wonderful north Iowa winter.  Looking forward to Denver on Jan. 17-19, though!!

Wish I was going to Denver this year.  We're expecting another big storm, too, tonight with up to a foot of new snow predicted!  Sheesh, I feel like I'm living in Jackson Hole again but without the beautiful mountains!

Goodluck with your big storms and hopefully they don't materialize!  :)

Cowz reported that they are having a blizzard now. Schools & stuff shut down. BTW, she's from CO.

Big snow storms AGAIN here in Michigan, too.  All the schools closed in this region.  6 inches fell overnight and it's still coming.  It's supposed to be "done" by 1am tomorrow morning.  Sure hope so as I am traveling downstate (where they're having freezing rain as I write this) tomorrow morning!  Ugh!  Who needs to go anywhere to work out when you can shovel heavy, wet snow several times a day!  Boy, am I getting "buff"!!
