I know that we've had this discussion before, but what is everyone paying for grain now?  Since I got my steer showmaster has gone from about $11 to about $14.  I talked to someone today who said that they saw COB for $17.

I don't know what cob is but things are going to get tough. How can a recession or depression not occor. Fuel prices drive everything up. I hope in evens out but whoever wins the presidency is looking a a wreck I think.  ???

Down here in Florida, I believe showmaster is about the highest feed available. Some of our 4H kids that were raising pigs last year were paying $18.00 a bag. Gas prices have gone up another $1.00 since then. I don't know if there will be any relief in the future. We buy bulk show feed for our calves and it about $370.00 per ton.

Not sure what Showmaster is running here now - last I bought was $11 ish a bag, back in early March. We have our own custom ration mixed and pick it up at the co-op in bulk. A year ago it was $7.63 a hundred, now it's $13.55 a hundred, which is still not bad compared to most, I guess.

I should clarify though, that that's our base ration, and we always topdress with Moormans/Fast Forward 1 mineral, and often add beet pulp, fast fat, etc.... All those things add cost, too.
