My daughter is doing her 1st research paper.  Its on the history of the Maine-Anjou breed.  We can find all sorts of stuff online, BUT her teacher says she needs an actual book source along with magazine, interviews, and internet information.  I'll be darned if our library has not one book on cattle breeds.  Any book suggestions that are appropriate for a 7th grader to use?

Thanks for your help!~ (thumbsup)

I think Dr.Harlan Ritchey has a good research paper. DL would probably know.

Dr. Herman Purdy also has a very nice book on cattle breeds.

You might try googling some of those.

Search amazon for books with info.  Most usually have an exerpt you can read and at least get a book or two to cite in her references.

In high school I usually just googled books about my topic and cited one of those, 99.999999% of teachers wouldn't know the difference.  Not necessarily a suggestion, just a sidestory  ;)

Ask around and see if you can find anyone that has that breed or go look in an encyclopedia. If all else false you could go toe local FFA Chapter and ask the advisor if they have anything!
