Been using these products and it looks like that is the source of some of our problems we have been having as far as breed back and the overall condition of our her who we had been feeding a balanced ration ...Had some fecal sample tested and they showed up positive ....

Use cydectin instead. I have heard parasites are building up a tolerance to ivermectin.

Ive been told to use cheap injectable in the fall/winter and expensive pour on in the spring/summer. Rotate your brands to reduce time for resistance

Ivermectin has been used for so long there is some resistance to it, also some of the generic ivermectin sold in my area has been found to be fake (no better than pouring them with blue water).  So be careful about where you purchase it.  As far as resistance, we usually recommend rotating from safeguard paste/drench and a pour-on (like Cylence)for lice one year then a pour-on dewormer like ivermectin the next (we've had best results with Cydectin).

In answer to your question, it works the same as the name brand.    However, the others are right, you should rotate types thru the year.

Check the active ingredient and see if it is the same on both brands.  The off brand I've been buying is the same - and it is made by a reputable company.    One thing I did notice on a different brand is that the application rate was different.    That is a mistake waiting to happen.

Last year I was having problems with my generic ivermectin not killing all the worms. My vet told be that there have been some issues with the generic brands of ivermectin not being as effective as the original.  As a result I have switched back to Cydectin with much improved results.  He also recommended using the injectable Cydectin once per year.

a couple things to consider, generic products only need to have 80% of the ingredient base in it as the origonal, and all the ivermectin products including the origonal and cydectin, are all made from the same base molecular structure ,dectomax is the only pour on with a different base molecule. so you can't expect different results while continuing to use the same thing, also too many producers try and scimp by on the dosage amounts. i guarantee your cows are way heavier than you think and this is also where alot of the resistance problems come from becuse not enough product is being used. i agree with switching products from time to time as well

Why does some of the off-brand get Ice crystals in the winter  and the ORIGINAL not??

I like the white dewormer and feed-form.

Using Dectomax this year, I use the Ivomectrin in the fall and give a BIG healthy dose of it.
