How to build/extend a tail

I'm showing a heifer this fall who had the tip of her tail freeze when she was born. Does anyone have info on how to build/extend a tail so it looks more normal? I've heard of a few ideas using the combination of glue and zip ties that I'm going to try and I have a while to play around and lots of old show cow tail hair to sacrifice so any suggestions would be appreciated!

I don't know if it'll end up being worth your time. I've never seen a hard core tail job like she'd need turn out all that great. Besides, any judge worth his salt won't blink an eye at a little bit of a shortened tail or ears.
