This will be the first year in over 20 years that I have actually had the chance to PLAN something fun for me. So having said that -- here is what I am doing on 8-29 thru 9-1
As you all know, I have what we feel is a pretty neat calf consigned to the sale at Club Calf Paridise , Brad and Juli Nelson's, on labor day weekend. We have been busy as all get out this summer and spring, and it just might be looking good to get away for a day or so at that time.
Juli and Brad are great hosts, and I have volunteered to -- as long as I am going to be there any way -- to fix up a BIG batch of smoked and BBQ'd brisket -- Nebraska style. It will take the better part of a day to get it all ready, but I am going to fo it -- with thier help needless to say..
They have a really neat little bunkhouse there that headquaters the sale festivities -- so I will be hanging around "Sparingly" letting little bits of smoked brisket go out the door -- hehehehe!
This will at least help me cope with the giant case of nerves I will have until this is all over. In case you are wondering, we have never had this oportunity before -- so I am a nervous wreck.
If any of you good folks get the chance to stop by -- PLEASE do so, I can't wait to meet you and just talk cows. Just look for the goofy looking guy that apparently fell out of a tree and that would most likely be me. hehehe ;D
Now -- you have three weeks to get ready -- I will be ID'ing every one -- if you ain't old enough to eat meat yet -- don't bother coming -- the TOFU bar is in town!!! hehehe
