I took a few pics with my phone tonight, and thought I would share.
The first photo is of the twins. These are mid October Rendition bull calves. Their dam is raising them both, she is a Summer Sister x Macho bred cow, three years old and is bred to calve October 4th to Final Cut (confirmed carrying a bull calf again). So, not only is she raising twins (they are not weaned yet, and NOT on creep!), but bred back to calve the same time this year!
The second pic is a side shot of one of the twins, with his brother behind him. They are both running around 650 pounds.
The third pic is our 3/4 blood Make It Rain bull calf. He is also a mid October bull calf, not creep fed, and not weaned yet. His dam is a Macho half blood (Draft pic x angus dam side), and MIR really added rib and cleaned up the shoulder from the cow. He is probably around 700 pounds right now, a real stocky guy. I am really liking him! I am thinking of weaning him this weekend and weighing, since he is starting to act like a bull with the cows.
This last pic is a heifer we have high hopes for. She is a Club King x a 3/4 Dream On cow that Jeff Miller owns. Her maternal sib was sold in the Denver sale, a bull that brought $10,000. Her dam hits a home run with every bull she is flushed to! We have another embryo calf due in October, that has been sexed a heifer also. I have a few more eggs in the tank that I am going to try to get in this spring. My middle daughter will be showing her next year if all goes well!
Anyway, just thought I would share. We sure have a lot of fall bull calves, we have cut a bunch already but I think I am going to make a deeper cut and do a few more. One bull calf I am waiting on the NH status, and when we find out about him we will decide the rest to cut and get it done. (thumbsup)
