Almost all good commercail feeds, have the same contents, but they all say they are better the others. Where are you located and that will help us see whats aorund you. Show master is a GREAT, and expenisive feed but its worth it. Also Purina has some pretty good steer feed (but dont feed your pig their pig feed), Umbaugers is also real good, I have seen some calves that are on it and they look GREAT  ;) If in Ohio there is Kambaulch (sp red???) I have been told it is super consistent, and it works good also. Sunglo has some good custom feeds but their list items seem to have to many fines in it, but they have a super good custom feed that a lot of people here in kansas are feeding (including me) called 14-4.  And then if you dont want a pre made feed you can always look aroudn fo rsome custom feeds to mix your self daily (AAOK has a super good one). Hope I was some help

The only bagged feed our show calves would ever eat is Umbarger's.  We feed their breeder/grower for a creep feed and have had great luck with all their feeds.

we use to feed purina then went to a special blend and then we went to another brand(I 4 got) and got awesome weight gain and then we got on showmaster and its been the most consistent feed.
Purina is always changeing around it seems like to much molasses or not enough and when u smell it the smell changed cattle noticed it.

We fed Showmaster Grower the past two years with great success, can not say the same for the Finisher.  I do not intend to use it again though because they are notorious for jumping their prices consistently.  We started in at $9.50/bag last show season and by the time all of the Majors were over in Texas we were paying $13.10/bag.  With two steers in the barn the last 60 days feeding 35lbs./head/day adds up in a hurry, 70lbs. x 60 = 4200 lbs.  4200 lbs. = 84 bags x $13.00 = $1092.00 feed bill for two months.  I am getting the same results so far with our current ration for a whole lot less.

We are using our own mix right now.  The pre-made completes have just gotten way out of hand on prices.

Showmaster here  is $13.80/50# bag. We have fed Hi-Pro grower or finisher the last 3 years with very good results.  The cattle never turn their nose up at it either.  It runs 10.50-11.50 per bag.  Very consistent and price never got above 11.65 last year.
