Disclaimer: I am in no way afffiliated or have even ever talked to Kopp Land and Livestock or anybody associated there.

Has any one seen the lineup for Kopp's Land and Livestock 2012 online sale??  Talk about IMPRESSIVE.  Lots of Monopoly's, couple Total Solution and Boardwalk.  THIS is what I call a good set of show cattle.  I don't know how many cows they have or how they operate but I would be proud to have bred and raise any 2 of those calves.  Secondly, I've noticed what seems like some good deals on online sales... I've seen some good, and I mean GOOD calves go for under $2,000, steers and breeding stock.  I think next year early May I'll take a ride down to visit Kopp's and pick out the calves I like then bid online.  Sure seems like some of these people are getting steals on these calves.  But then again, these sales normally have real and unafiliated buyers (Like myself) buying these, with "Real" money.  Maybe these prices aren't inflated?  But that's another topic...

Also, I'd like to here people's favorites- here's mine..

Tag 2: Total Solution x Texas Hold 'em Bull calf... Total outcross and has that thickness and "look", he'd be one hell of a bull for those WA and Monopoly daughters.
Tag 6: Eye Candy x FullFlush/Draftpick Heifer... Hairy and stout, plus the genetics will give her an edge in the pasture w/ Monopoly, Full Flush, and Draftpick backing her up.
Tag 11: Eyes pn the Money x Amtrax Heifer... Sexy mainetainer who I think will really compete in the mainetainer OR commercial classes

Tag 10 could be a sleeper... Icy Hot x 402/Meyer heifer... Freaky necked and maternal, really cocky to.

Just my Opinions.  Lets here yours.

Well also people wanna buy older calves not calves 60-90 days old they are all sound at that age and all have that much hair and they all look really really good still on the tit..............its when you wean them and get them on feed is with the truth comes out..........im not saying that is the case but I mean come on now........would you rather spend 5000 on one this old or spend 5000 on one thats already been on feed for 30-60 days or so to see how they are going to adapt to feed??? I know where I would rather spend my money.........

I get what you're saying.  But I'd take a risk at $3000 on a calf at 60 to 90 days old if I've seen it in person and saw it's disposition.  I think the temperment helps alot with the weaning process, and they NORMALLY will stay pretty mellow if they're worked at 2 months daily rather than 8... Just my opinion...

If you watch the sales, you can get some really good deals! I have bought embryos and semen numerous times for a steal, in my opinion. Did anyone see the Jeff Miller sale yesterday on Willoughby? Some good deals there! You just have to know your limits, genetics on what you are interested in, and how much you think it is worth!  (thumbsup)

I do not have an affiliation with Kopp Land and LIvestock either. But I ahve watched their sales for quiet a few years. They sell consistency. Every year their calves look great and consistently have that look- fuzzy and fat. I have to commend them as breeders to be able to get their calves looking that good this soon.
