Have to put the oldest of my cows down this morning, looks like she has a case of hardware, she started going down hill about a month ago, thought it was respiratory but antibiotics did not help. She has had several nice calve,s all with her disposition, ornery but gentle. She will be going to a local animal rescue center just east of my place, with no sale barns near it is just easier to donate the meat and take it as a right-off then ship her on hour and half up the road. I have a Dr.Who daughter out of her who is due to calf in the spring. She was a Ali /Theobold, need some more of her type.

She received a magnet when she was a yearling, problem is now days half the metal out three is not attracted to the magnet. I keep my place pretty cleaned up, she ran on pasture west of here and that is probably where she picked it up. The owner keeps it up, but low-lows like to sneak in the backside of the place and dump their junk every now and then.

She had an enlarged liver3* it's normal size, hart was enlarged as well, lungs, liver, and kidneys were all normal. She had retained a lot of fluid, that settled in her lower body.
