I had something happen this morning that I thought was very funny and embarassing so I wanted to share.  We had a real nice family stop to look at the sale calves today.  The calves are at the facility where we sell at and I was in the pen with the Family that was viewing the calves.  The pen connects to another pen where our cattle partners have some cows and the herd bull.  Gavin, My 5 year old walks up and is yelling at me, Daddy, Daddy.  I said what, He says that Bull has a huge Marble sack! I said whatever Gavin.  He says no Dad, his Marble sack is huge.

I am sure I was about 8 shades of Red but had to laugh!

I have many stories similar but my favorite two are these.

My youngest is a senior in high school and when she was five she told the sunday school teacher we had a cow with two tales.  The teacher asked me about the cow and I couldn't feature how she would come up with two tails.  I asked her about the two tails and she explained that we were at the farm to see the new baby the cow had two tails.  The Cow had not cleaned up and afterbirth looked like another tail.

My oldest is now in college but when she was 6 we were checking cows that were calving and one baby shorthorn was covered in yellow fluid as sometimes they are.  The cow was cleaning the baby and she said "I didn't know cows liked mustard"

(clapping) (clapping) Kids..  ya just never know!

When our daughter was younger, she told us that she could tell the bulls apart from the cows because the bulls have a purse.

My kids have grown up around cattle since they were little bitty.  My son is now 10 but when he was in kindergarten they took a trip to the zoo then the next day had to draw their favorite animal.  Well needless to say my son's favorite animal was the lion and he attached the boy parts with a red marker--both parts.  It gets better the pictures were posted in the hall outside their classroom for all to see!!  Makes you proud doesn't it!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Ha Ha  ;D ;D ;D ;D

My oldest is 10, but in Kindergarten he drew a picture of a herd of cows  and calves and the closest cow in the picture had just had a calf and the after birth was still hanging there and My son  told the teacher that was the "birth" and it was the bag that the baby calf comes in. Kinda like luggage only sometimes the old cow eats it!  Luckily his teacher was a farm girl and a vets wife!

When I was in the first grade I watched a movie about pigs and I come home telling Mama some of those pigs looked wierd because they had some huge thing on the back of them. Of course the were boars but back then most of my neighbors swine didn't have that big thing on the back of them.  ;D
