Just got back from it, quality brought a premium but there was a bit of a drop off.

We were sitting by our neighbors who had about half a dozen bulls picked out they'd like if they went under $5k.  Those bulls all shot up to the 8-10k range.

Do you know what lots were Burke's.  I think they were all over the average, if you know lots I have them all written down.  Morrissey had the high seller at 12,500

No, all I know is that they had two bulls out of The Man and one out of Habanero. They were expecting big money out of the Habanero bull.

How did burkes bulls do?
the 4 brothers to "Hotline" by Thw Man brought 4,300, 4,100 , 5,500 & 3,500. They had one by The Man brought 7,000, the Hab son brought 5,000 & an Ali son brought 6,750. They were hoping for more out of the Habenaro son.

Watching the sale on Liveauction.tv, I thought the Morrissey-Schou bull seperated himself from the field if you like them extra thick and wide tracking. His draw back was he is horned. If they sell semen on him I would sure think it would be worth sampling. Wonder who bought him?

I expected more like ten out of that bull. Somebody got a real deal. Seems prices were low for that quality of bulls.

I liked the Morrissey bull, he is a free Irish Whiskey, but he was the only bull all night I heard them say the owners are keeping cloning rights on the bull.  I may not have the same opinion as everyone else, but I will not purchase an animal you are keeping cloning rights on, you can't have your cake and eat it too, you either want to sell him or keep him.

I was there looked for two days. Personally, i liked the open bar son the best. LOT 23  Lots of power, sound and would be a total outcross for alot of people. I look for them to be selling semen shortly. JMO

I thought he was a very nice bull too from my perspective on the monitor. He was the only bull that came close to matching Morrissey's bull when it came to thickness. Sly, glad you reaffirmed my observation. Did Lot 23 have a little more frame then Lot 25?  Both bulls have nice pedigrees.

Morrissey and Schou's bull was purchased by Griswold. What is going to happen with semen has not yet been decided.

the lot 25 bull had a frame score of 5.4 and the open bar son had one of 5.0. I think the lot 25 bull had more maternal strengths vs. the other bull. We thought about buying the 23 bull because he was clubbier looking. However, didn't work out.

I liked both of those bulls and a few others, but I still didn't find exactly what I was looking for either.
