Comments by an ex-player about James the player in question!

To whom it may concern:

You can find out a lot about a person after playing three years of college football with them. Adam James was a teammate of mine from 2006-2009. Ever since the day he arrived on the Texas Tech campus you couldn’t help but to feel a negative energy from him. He expected people to baby him and that he was going make it solely on the fact that his father was a very successful player. Coach Leach has never been a coach to just give something to someone because of who they are. He believes that everyone is equal and you have to earn respect from your coaches and teammates. Adam was never known as a hard worker. I can honestly agree with this because we played the same position and I witnessed his laziness on a daily bases. Adam seemed to have a negative attitude towards the football program the majority of the time. That negative energy is never good for a team and can cause some major problems on and off the field. During practices, Adam always tried to get by with doing the least he possibly could. Never do I once remember Adam to be excited or enthusiastic to be out there. It was almost like he was playing the game of football to please someone other than himself.

Sincerely,

Eric Morris

I think it is really sad!  These players are not children, they are grown men, many the same age are serving in our armed forces to insure we have the freedom to make idiots out of ourselves if we want to, do you think they are being babied?  If these players had such an issue with the way the coaches handled the team, why not quit, if the players are that good someone else will pick them up, or better yet, say something while you are being treated so badly instead of waiting for years for it to surface.  I think there have been some pretty good men ruined because they are tough, these schools make millions off of winning teams, that is what they are paid to deliver.

Yep, they fired him just before the court hearing this morning, AND just before his big bonus was due. I sure don't know all the facts in this case, but the timing sure calls into question Texas Tech's motives (and credibility)...

Well, I am sure that someone will pick him up.  Like people have been saying, witch hunt!  Too many times personal issues between two people get in the way of a program.  Who, outside of the Big 12, have heard much out of Tech until Leach put his system in there?  There are some AD's out there salivating at the opportunity that lies before them.  Jill, you are right, college sports is a revenue that schools depend on and football is at the top of the food chain.  Really makes no sense to me why the are dumpin on Leach.  Maybe the AD and that kids dad have a "master plan" drew up for Tech football.  Has Florida St hired anyone yet?

I think the current admin is cleaning house to get rid of these idiot coaches - Knight and now Leach.  Leach isn't a real nice guy.  He held them over a barrell last year to get his contract extension.  When you do that, you better walk the line.  He didn't.  First his "fat girlfried" tirade earlier this year (which, although funny, was highly inappropriate) and now this.

If the kid was such a knothead (which he probably was - my old high school coaches coached this kid in high school at a little town in TX called Celina), why didn't they just run him off the team.  Under no circumstances do you lock a kid in a shed, especially one who was hurt.  We can all guess what probably happened and they were extremely irked at this kid, but the coaches can't do that.  I suspect any of us would come unglued at our kids getting treated like that.

Tech will be better off getting a coach who is a little more of a leader than just a guy who can you "W's".

It's the best move for the school, we're happy they made the tough but correct choice.

I guess this is the part I don't understand, same with the Mangino firing earlier, if the things they have done are this bad, why would a parent/player not have assault charges pressed against the coach, there are worse things than being fired and his dad apparently has the clout to really make a difference.

Bingo Jill! No lawsuit coming from the James family I'll bet! Caught up in a witch hunt by AD and I will bet it might effect Craigs career! Don't be surprised if he gets  pushed out in the next year, IMO!

Jill, does your "if you don't like it, quit" stance apply to sexual harassment at work as well?

Innocent until proven guilty is for jail time, not college football jobs.

No, they just heard a rumor and decided to fire the coach that made their football program relevant without checking on any of the accusations.  I doubt they spent more than five minutes on the decision to get rid of the most recognizable figure at the school.
