Just found this site and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed.  Pretty good information but I am having trouble finding a ration for show heifers. Would like to keep the protein in the 12-13% range, provide good growth with some cover.  have this ration ...

60 -Oats
24.5- Corn
14.5- Protein Pellet - 27%
.6- mineral/salt
.4 - areomycin, or feed additive

based on 100 lbs.

Any help on rations that have worked for you?

(welcome), Coachmac. If you click on the search promtp above & type in rations, there are a lot of PPL's very good rations. Brent

Thank you CAB!  greatly appreciated!  Found a couple that seem popular on here.  Getting ready to call the mill and ask them to run me a bill up on them!  Thanks again!

welcome, we don't use auremycin  since we are a lo density site (not many cattle per lot)... I am not sure it helps much so I leave it off, we have access to dry distillers and use that .. it really seems to boost the hair but the calves will try to pick out the corn and leave it with the fines, to combat that we mix in some mollases

Welcome to SP I check this site 2-3 times a day..... learn to post pictures if you can... Doc Slater

I answered a question about DDG with this E-mail
Doug, this mix came from a friend of mine...we are feeding to eat not show... so take this with a grain of salt total 3080 lbs

36.84 BU corn
770 lbs dried distillars grain
.60 rumensin  80
154lbs calf extra kick 28
92.4 lbs liquid mollases

no oats,no alfalfa pellets, I was letting the steers have full choice good oat hay while they were growing over the winter, they were getting about 15 lbs apiece then... they weigh about 1100 now and are booked to go to the butcher in 21/2 months,,, I think they will probably weigh about 1300 by then... they are eating about 30 lbs apiece now ... all they will clean up
