My wife just bought a wii and the wii fit.  I was kind of skeptical of the wii fit but after doing some of the strength exercises on it i was sore for two days!  The games are fun too!

Where fixing to buy a Wii and I would like some opinions on it.
I for the most part am against my boys getting too involved in the Whole Video game deal.  This was my stance, and over the Holidays  We stayed at my Sisters and we played the Bowling game all night and my Son accused me of being hooked.  What I like about it isn't just your mind getting wrapped up in it.  My Dad(65) showed up the next day and he isn't to any games and he really enjoyed it.  My wife is a Therapist and Wii is a big hit and a great passtime for the elderly in the Vet's home.

Another note,  My brother in law threw me into a fitness test that had 3 different games that tested your skill.  With a sore shoulder I couldn't hit the baseball to save my butte,  The test told me that I had the fitness of a 72 year old.  Boy did my Father razz me for that!  We don't have one yet but may consider one down the road.  I was shocked how much like the real live bowling the Wii bowling was,  I line up in the same spot and throw just like I would in a regular bowling alley.  Not saying the results were great always!

With the Wii at least there is physical activity, you have to move to play.
Watch out for Tennis Elbow, flying controllers and minor frustration.

Dogs should not be around when you play, while bowling I have it one dog in the head twice, during tennis the Corgi keeps waiting for the controller to leave your hand so he can fetch it.

Wife uses the Wii fit aspect of the game.

Get the Wii! You'll love it. We were the first in our family to get one and now the whole extended family has one. Wii Tenis is my favorite.

I'm not really into video games of any sort, but my cousins have this and if there going to play video games its better for them to atleast get some exercise from it.

We were going to get the Wii but seeing how it would take aproximately $400 to get all 3 of us playing and we already had a Playstation 2, we got Rockband for the Playstation 2.  That is another one that will flat kick your butt if you really get to playing it.  My hands and arms have hurt since we got it, but it is a BALL!

i am more of a competitive video game player like madden football and call of duty so i enjoy the xbox 360 more but the wii is good for a family and is fun to play with a bunch of people or just to watch.

I admit I have been pricing the different Wii systems and was curious what/how many  controls/games are necessary or the best for your money?

I dont like it. To me for being a vidio game is too active. If i wanna play a vidio game i wanna sit down and have a lifeless time for a hour. I dont have any vidio games but when i played the wii it was like why dont i just go out side nad actually play the game or actually throw a ball on a chain. Idk thats my opion. i figured i didnt like the whole fake sports games on a TV when i could go out side and throw somthing around. I have a friend who loves yoga and balance crap for her fancy horse riding and she does alotta excersiese for it on there. idk to me its not the type of vidio game id want.

The reasons you don't like it are exactly the reasons I may break down and get one.  Video games just sitting there on the couch playing them is what I don't want.  Let 3 boys under 9 play for an hour without working off any energy and they are so wound up that they can't slow down for a while.  Wii lets you wear off some energy as you play, IMO.

The boys got one for Christmas and we love it.  They are mostly active games, there are also some learning games, many of the games can be played by the whole family they range from 1 to 4 players.  I don't really like video games, but this one I can endorse 100%.
