This is my son's March 2010 Hannibal heifer he showed at the county fair last July and here she is today at 23 months, ready to drop a JPJ calf.

Doesn't get much better from the production side of things.

You Illbux has a very nice productive machine here. Now to you Cut the B.S. has to be the most rudest poster that SP has. i've read most of your post and you are so negative that is so unreal. Maybe you are an angry person or you like to highjack other people's post. You do not make sense most of the time committing on the sheep industry when this is a cattle post. Cut the B.S. I'llbe praying for you to come to your swnses.

Wish the girl was in a little better flesh, but I hate to calve fat cows/heifers.    Hay quality this winter has been poor.

She will be treated like a queen when she drops a little blue roan baby on or about March 3.

For you udder fans, her teats are about the size of my thumb.  May get big with age, but about right today.

I must agree with B.S., please read the entire post before asking questions, use proper English, punctuation and sentence structure.
You'll be much more credible in any comments or observations you make.

I'm a sucker for those JAN born red holstein dairy steers that we take to our July co. fair... I can't resist putting a halter on 'em before a week! (lol)

BTW- nice production heifer!! I just hope mine can turn out like that... Any idea on her frame size?  Seems like she may be just a tic small.

BS- I couldn't agree more.  Jesus, read the post before you go off ready to post a comment!!

And to you my dear friend clgcattle... (please take note of my sarcasm...)  I am just about 130% sure that LLBUX is not an Illbux, which sounds very similar to "Ibex."  I posted the link below since I am challenged when it comes to posting a picture....

She is actually pretty tall and about a 6=+frame.  Pic is deceiving.

Here she is again in August after a month on grass.

The old guy behind her isn't very tall ;)

She weighed 1156 in July and is still about 1200 now.

We're just getting started in Belties and won't have any calves this spring unless I find a cow or two bred for spring calves.

Saved the big cow for a spring calf next year.  Have been asked and may flush her this spring.

You can bet I'll update when this heifer calves.

Looks like the calf will have a good lunch box once it's born! Haha also sounds like it will be spoiled with lots of love once it arrives! That's how most of my show cattle babies are :)

Best of luck!!

Well, since you started this thread, I will jump right in! Here is our show heifer (one of them), a half blood Simmental by Lookout, with her Built Right bull calf just a few days after she calved. She is doing a FANTASTIC job being a mom, protective but not so much that we can not get in and touch him, always seems to know where he is at, and is always cleaning him and talking to him. She has a great udder, we could not be happier with her! Of course, if she had a heifer we would be happier, but I guess you can't have EVERYTHING!  (clapping)

How was his comment rude? Learn how to read and type English, then maybe others won't feel the need to get on here and point out the obvious......

The Hannibal heifer calved Saturday, March 3rd to JPJ.    She squeezed the 85-90 pounder out all by herself.

My son calls the black roan bull calf "Fumbles"    Mostly black with white on belly and light roaning under tail/belly.  he has a few white hairs throughout.

We haven't haltered him yet Jody, but we have messed with him a bunch.

The 'udder guy' can rest knowing she is milking just fine.

More pix coming soon!

that top pic- sure doesn't look like a 90# calf-- you'd better not tell all the JPJ heifer safe lovers out there about this-

Looks like for good reason- you'll have a proud family.

Are you sure- that halter on the cow- wasn't just a holding facility in time for the calf with due time? ;)

I believe in being prepared, hence the cow halter.    Didn't need it, she was kind of confused,, but let baby nurse right away.

I put her in the barn right after calf was born so he'd stay warm.  Was cold and windy here on Sat.
Picked up baby and he was an arm load.  Didn't weigh him, just guessed.
Was surprised to find a calf that size out of JPJ.  I expected one about 60 pounds.

More pix in coming days.
