I was hoping to get some opinions on this young bull calf.  I thought he was decent enough to picture the other day.  He is still on pasture with mom but does have creep feed available.  He is a SOS (sire of 3 calves that sold for 150k at the Foundation Female Sale) on 3C Macho's full sib.  Let me know what you think.

I can agree that it would be nice to have him a little cleaner up front but I haven't seen many "true" simmi bulls that didn't have a touch of throat to them that still had the maternal breeding that this guys has.  Also on the depth of body it was 92 that day and it was his first coming in from the pasture.  Please keep the opinions coming.  Thanks,

He has nice substance and bone.  I guess I don't really know what you are thinking of doing with him.  I personally would leave him a bull because I don't think he can do much as a steer because he isn't very clubby.  You might get some very good replacements out of him, but as for the show calf arena he won't make it.  He has too much on the front end and not the hair or the presence that he would need for the show industry.  Just my 2 cents take it for what it's worth.  Sorry if I seemed negative, also.

Surprisingly enough with this cooler Indiana weather this guy is starting to put on workable hair.  Let us know if anyone would like to swing through and see him.

Looks like he will have plenty of mass. I would like to see his neck and shoulder come together a little smoother. He might be off  a bit in the hips but that could be the way he is standing with the picture. I am assuming this was a recent picture? Interesting to see how he develops. How does he move?

The picture was taken about the middle of July.  We weighed him yesturday and we weighed in at 630 lbs he is a first of March.  As far as movement goes his toes all point the correct direction and he fills his tracts as well as can be asked for from any calf.
