we have several, 30 plus - mostly in the 65 to 80 range but some longer term bull calves larger - a lot of bone but designed well to calve and they are very consistent in quality - they are 1/2 and a few 3/4 Simmental calves - some are out of club calf oriented cows and they have the larger birth weights in the 90s - most Angus oriented seem to be calving in the 280 days or so range - personally I would not use him on heifers as some of them are pretty stout - I don't get too carried away by EPDs but with the big bodies and lots of rib and width of base I could see how they might grow well - they are darn nice looking, attractive calves at birth, very good style which is not always the case breeding simmys- we will just have to wait and see how they grow and develop - however my suggestion is to use calving ease Angus bulls and get a live calf - I know that lots of folks are looking for a good solution for their Heat Wave or whatever club-calf oriented heifers - don't even think about it, as the Grandmasters are probably just too stout on the average - most any Simmental bull worth his salt is going to throw a big one every now and then particularly if the heifer/cow has some big birth weights in her background -
